Advantages of an Aluminum Ramp

Maintenance Free.

100% maintenance free. No rusting, no rooting, no painting. Aluminum handicap ramps will last for years.

Modular.

Modular in design, can be easily removed and reused. Provides layout flexibility and quick installations.

Mesh Surface.

Rain and snow pass through the open mesh floor. No swells and no icing up. This is the safest ramp for Canadian winters.

Strength.

800 lbs capacity. Strong enough for use with a mobility scooter.

Wheelchair Ramp Slopes

It is recommended that the ramp be built to 12:1 slope. For every 1 inch in rise, the ramp requires 12 inches run. For example, 3 steps usually is about 21 inches, this would require 21 feet of ramp. The ramps can be built steeper in certain circumstances but it is not recommended.

Aluminum Ramp Costs

Aluminum ramps generally cost less than steel ramps but more than wood ramps. They last forever and because they are modular they are easy to reuse on another project. The configuration of the ramp, number of landings, number of turns all effects the overall cost. A site evaluation has to be performed to obtain an accurate price. If you are in the Edmonton area please call 780-916-5455. Outside of Edmonton – email staymobility@gmail.com a photo of were the ramp is to be located and measure the total rise.
