Everything one needs to know about our ramps!

What is a modular ramp?

Modular ramps offer many benefits for consumers, from quick installation times to layout flexibility and easy repairs in the event the ramp is damaged. Plus, if the ramp is only needed for a short-term use, like as part of a surgery recovery, it can be removed without lasting impact to the home. Learn More

Is a Building Permit required?

A Modular Ramp is not permanently attached and therefor does NOT require a Building Permit. However a wood ramp that is fixed to the home will require a building permit.

Rules, Regulation and Recommendations?

The government of Canada has created a document outlining Ramp Designs so that the ramp can be used to the greatest extent possible by all people regardless of their age, size and ability. Please see: Accessible Housing by Design

What if I only need a ramp for a short term?

Stay Mobility offer ramp rentals. The ramps are rented by the day, week or month. Our modular ramps will not permanently alter your home and can be safely removed from your property once no longer needed.

How long does the ramp need to be?

Safe wheelchair ramps should be no longer than 1 foot for every 1 inch of rise. EG. A ramp that rises 20 inches needs to be at least 20 feet long. Assisted users, strong user or power chairs may be able manage a steeper ramp but it is not recommended.
